Monthly Club Minutes
4 December 2011
Location: Rudy’s BBQ located at HY. 281N. & Nolana
•Officers Present: Doc Rohn (President),John Pief(Vice President), Rick Michelena (Treasurer), Edward Rivas (Secretary)
•Dr. John Rohn called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
•There were 22 members present and one guest Steve Molly of the Midwest RC Club . Tejas RC gave Mario Garcia a warm welcome; he is our latest member… Welcome to the club Mario!
•The minutes for the month of February 6, 2012 were accepted as read and posted on the website.
Treasurer’s Report: The Club unanimously accepted the treasurer's report as reported and submitted.
•The mower issue that was tabled at the February meeting was revisited. This is the motion that was proposed by thingy Ware….. The club voted in favor of the proposition and the motion passed
1. The purchase of Rick Michelena’s mower for the sum of 1730.91 paid in full.
2. The mower can remain at his home for storage for the present time.
3. RM will continue to perform maintenance on the mower as needed and for the present time (maintenance beyond Rick’s personal capabilities would need to be addressed by a professional with the club paying for repairs.)
4. The club will pay for all parts, fluids, and fuel that need to be replaced.
5. October 15th thru March 15th, the Winter Texans will be responsible for the mowing of the field as needed. March 16th through October 14th full time residents of the RGV will be responsible for the mowing of the field as needed. (Individuals who are willing to mow will call RM the day before so he can make sure the mower is ready to use. Also, the person mowing will pick up the mower at his home and return it when finished. (The mower should be cleaned by user, by removing all grass from the belts, pulleys, and mower deck.)
6. For any reason that the field needs to be mowed, and no one volunteers, the club will pay RM $50.00 each time for the mowing of the field and does include transportation of the equipment to the field for the present time
•The Winter Texas Day event was a success, we had great food, great company and beautiful weather.
• A mation was made and passed, Alex Herz was made the interim Safety Officer.
• Safety Concerns by Doc. Please DO NOT fly behind the centerline of the runway. He noted several pilots have violated the rule.
• John Pief reported that Alex an individual he knows, will cut the grass for free, in return he will get to bale the hay, and collect some mesquite wood… Now that’s a good deal! Thank you John
•A motion was made by Alex Herz and passed.. The motion made was to establish a control line circle in close proximity to the big ebony tree, and will be clear of the runway, that way both U-control and RC flying can be done simultaneously.
•John Pief was the weiner of the 25 dollar gift certificate from Texas Roadhouse.
